Broadcast journalism pioneer Edward R. Murrow was born to a Quaker family at Centre, North Carolina. His mother was a Hodgin. The Murrows were one of three families at Murton in Lamplugh, Cumbria, but for now I have no idea whether that line leads to Centre. Hodgsons were also in Murton, and I believe it’s the line that leads to Centre.
