London Grove Friends meetinghouse is a large, lovely structure. George and Mary (Thatcher) Hodgson lived nearby, before relocating to what is now Adams County. Robert and Sarah Hodgson were also in the general vicinity.Quaker settlement in Piedmont North Carolina before the Revolutionary War came largely from Chester County, Pennsylvania, halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. London Grove was one meeting that fed heavily into the stream southward.
